Kindle is an e-book reader. Two popular models are the Amazon Kindle DX (we’ll talk about Kindle DX specs a bit later) and the Amazon Kindle 3G. These devices, like all Kindles, allow users to read ebooks or what’s known as a digital book after download from the Kindle store.

Screen size may also be a specification you are interested in. You can compare all the models in the Kindle store, but essentially the DX version offers a 9.7” diagonal screen, while the 3G has a 6” diagonal screen like the basic Kindle with special offers.

All three versions of the Kindle have E Ink Pearl screen technology which allows reading in bright light with no glare. A Kindle can hold up to 3,500 digital book titles. They also have native PDF support; use Whispersync for downloads and are text-to speech enabled.
