Pet Hotel

A pet hotel can refer to accommodation for animals such as cats and dogs only, but may also refer to pet friendly hotels where people stay. If you can’t find pet boarding where you want to stay often a pet kennel or pet sitters can help meet your animal’s needs during a vacation. Many people enjoy travelling with their pets so it’s important to plan for their overnight and day care needs as well if you plan to take your cat or dog on a vacation with you.

Pet friendly hotels allow animals to stay in the rooms with guests. However, there are limits to what a pet hotel will allow. Often this means that smaller animals under specific weights are allowed to stay in the room with you, but larger animals are not. Certain breeds may also be prohibited at some establishments. The exception to this rule is the guide dog which a disabled individual may need to navigate and remain safe in activities of daily living. There are some people who use guide cats, but these animals will typically need a doctor’s certification to be allowed in some pet hotel accommodations.

If your animal does not meet size or breed restrictions at a pet hotel, the pet friendly hotels can usually recommend local pet boarding and pet kennel facilities in the area. The concierge should also be able to recommend professional pet sitters who can watch and care for your animal when you are on an excursion outside the hotel.
